Hope Through Evangelism
Keymedia began producing Finnish radio broadcasts 55 years ago. Years later, we began producing Russian radio programs and continued to produce Russian television programs.
Years ago, Keymedia felt called to tell Westerners about the situations that Christians are facing in the U.S.S.R. This led to the action of printing Bibles and other Christian literature, then taking them over the border. In the early 1990's, Keymedia was printing over 2 million Russian books a year.
From early on, Keymedia saw the needs of the minorities in Russia. In 1993, with the co-operation with other organizations, a Bible translation institute was established, which focused on translating God's word into Finno-Urgic originated languages. Presently, six of our targeted 12 Finno-Ugric language groups have received the New Testament in their mother tongue.
At this point in time, Keymedia feels that the production of Russian radio and television programs should happen in Russia. The locals have the know-how and are best able to reach out to their own people. Keymedia supports the Russian media ministry by providing training for those churches interested in media ministry.
Keymedia is focusing on supporting the Russian Pentecostal church's vision called "A Year for Jesus". Approximately 20 teams are traveling to small villages in Russia, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are thankful for Keymedia's help in providing literature, such as Bibles, the New Testament, and other books to be distributed door to door in those villages.
"We believe that our generation will evangelize the population in Russia in the next ten years!" said Eduard Grabovenko, leader of the Russian Pentecostal movement.
